Brilliant peridot earrings are handmade in Bali. Both genuine oval shaped stone is set in a sterling silver bezel setting with intricate Bali work around the bezel. Peridot gems hang from a hinged lever back ear wire that locks behind the ear. Dangle earrings are 1 1/8 inches long and 3/8 inch wide and come inside a jewelry gift box. The Egyptians called peridot the “gem of the sun.” Peridot is thought to protect its owner from nightmares. This gem is also thought to bring it's wearer power, influence, and a wonderful year. Peridot is the gem variety of the mineral olivine. Its chemical composition includes iron and magnesium, and iron is the cause of its attractive yellowish green colors. The gem often occurs in volcanic rocks called basalts, which are rich in these two elements.
