Moonstone and Labradorite are both feldspar minerals. Both also have a unearthly shimmer and iridescent play of colors caused by the inter growth of two different types of feldspar. Moonstone has a long history of being used in jewelry. Both Roman and Greeks connected moonstone with their lunar gods and goddesses. The Romans theorized that moonstone was formed from frozen moonlight.
