This adorable sea turtle necklace is handmade with sterling silver and fossilized woolly mammoth ivory that is over fifteen thousand years old. Pendant is 1 1/8 inches high and 2/3 inch wide and comes with an 18 inch smooth snake chain. Now extinct, the Mammoth roamed the earth until about 15,000 years ago. Mammoth ivory is usually found by gold miners in Alaska and Canada. This material is legal to carve and own. Care: Due to the natural state of the ivory, use only a jewelry cleaning cloth to polish any metal. Do not use jewelry cleaners, chemicals, soaps, or detergents. Avoid extreme heat, moisture, and soaking.
